Blush Crush Giveaway Win

Last sunday the lovely Chloe of Blushcrush sent an email notifying me that I had won her Lush giveaway. I literally could not believe my eyes and remember having to refrain myself from shouting out with glee from our windows. It's the first giveaway I have ever won and it seriously made my weekend extra special.

The prize that I had won, which came on saturday, was the Bunty Pink gift set from Lush and each item is something that I have never tried - only due to not having a local Lush store near me! The Bunty Pink gift set comes with two bath ballistics and two bubble bars which all smell absolutely amazing.
The actual wrapping paper on this gift set is very girly, which is totally me, and I just haven't the heart to chuck it away. I guess I could use it for a background for when I take photo's of my products, what do you think?
Well without further ado, let's take a look at what's inside my Bunty box

A great little mini addition of the Lush Times
Clockwise from top left; Keep It Fluffy, Creamy Candy, Butterball and Comforter

Im really looking forward to trying Butterball after reading some great reviews about it. Butterball smells amazing, Vanilla is by far the top scent, and is known for it's moisturising properties due to containing cocoa butter. I also love the simplicity of this ballistic; a simple colour with extra dashings of colour here and there.

Keep It Fluffy is the other bath ballistic in this set and I love the design. It's such a pretty ballistic with the white ring, which funnily enough reminds me of a planet, running through a beautiful lilac. Keep It Fluffy has hints of Jasmine and is known to smell like Vanilla and Lavender once it was been placed in the water. Im really looking forward to using it and a full length review with pictures will following shortly.

Creamy Candy is a lovely sweet smelling bubble bar with hints of vanilla and candy floss. It contains Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter to help moisturise the skin and to provide a soft, creamy and relaxing bath. How pretty is this bubble bar? This is by far my favourite and I am really excited about using it. I just love the wee flower on top. So sweet!! I am planning to break this bubble bar into several pieces so I can have several bubble ridden baths instead of just one.

Last but no way least is the Comforter a well known bubble bar that smells deliciously of blackberries and is know to very comforting 'yes, pun intended'. This bubble bar is the mini version of the classic hit but I'm still sure it still smacks punch just like it's larger brother. I still plan to break this one up so I can several blackberry scented baths instead of just one.

As soon as I start to use these products, which will be very soon, I will take photo's of them in action and write a lengthy honest review based on the products performance. If you would like to see past Lush review based on my Abombinaball then please click on the link provided.

I just want to thank Chloe for holding this giveaway in the first place. I am truly happy that I won and thank you for giving us all the chance too. You are a fantastic, funny person who I have enjoyed chatting to over the past couple of days. Your blog is fantastically entertaining and you always strive to achieve a happy, comforting experience on your blog. So thank you Chloe =)

Have you tried any of these products before? What is your favourite Lush product? Let me know in the comments below =)

Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butters

Over the past couple of weeks I have heard about a recent craze that has hit the many stores in the US. It's the ColourBurst Lip Butter, reminds me so much of Starbursts, that comes in the form of a lipstick created by Revlon. As soon as my beady little eyes fell onto them, I knew I had to have them but knew I had to wait since they are currently not available in the UK.
Now I have no idea why I want these bad boys in my life, well umm makeup bag, but I do know I'll try too purchase as many as I can - well those appropriate colours that will be worn almost all the time.

Now Revlon describes these Lip Butters as a buttery balm that has a beautiful shiny colour that gives the lips a baby soft, healthy glow with a burst of colour. The lip butters contain hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter to help boost the moisturising properties and so giving an almost protecting, as well as colour, layer to lips throughout the harsher, colder months. The lip butters come in a fantastic range of 20 shades that all have a sheer to medium colour payoff with a smooth, buttery shine. The colours in the collection are as follows;

  • Pink Truffle
  • Sugar Frosting
  • Raspberry Pie
  • Tutti Frutti
  • Brown Sugar
  • Peach Parfait
  • Fig Jam
  • Candy Apple
  • Red Velvet
  • Cotton Candy
  • Berry Smoothie
  • Cupcake
  • Gumdrop
  • Creamsicle
  • Cherry Tart
  • Lollipop
  • Strawberry Shortcake
  • Sugar Plum
  • Sweet Tart
  • Creme Brulee
All these shades sound so edible. Don't you agree? You can see roughly what the shades look like by checking online at Revlon.co.uk

What I do love about these lip butters is the packaging. It's very sleek, chick and professional looking, not forgetting to mention the lovely quilted design that I am a huge fan of. The colour matching casing, which is a fantastic and fun addition, is a massive hit to me as it will make it a whole easier to pick out the colour needed. I'm sure that many of you will agree with me on this one. I just hate ransacking my lipstick box/makeup bag in search of that much needed colour to never being able to find it without tipping out the contents. It's seriously a bane in my life =P

I've heard, and if I'm correct, these ColourBurst Lip Butters will be hitting the stores in the UK March 14th. I will be marching, well getting the hubby to drive me, straight down to my nearest Superdrug to pick up the colours that stand out to me the most.

So what do you all think about these ColourBurst Lip Butters? Will you be adding them to your collection or will you be passing? Let me know in the comments below!!
=)

Lush #1 Abombinaball

I purchased this little guy during the January sale at Lush meaning I got him for half price. If I am correct, and remembering properly, I only paid around £1.50 which is a total steal for a great sized bath bomb. He easily was the size of my palm and actually was quiet a handful when attempting to put him safely in my bag.

This smiling fella is only available during the Christmas season but I am sure there is a dupe that runs throughout the year which has a similar scent payoff.

Now I used Abombinaball on a friday, this was after completing a whole week of early shifts starting at 06.45 and finishing at 13.15. I was knackered, my body was hurting and I knew my smiling, dazzing Abombinaball would make my weekend go off with a nice fizzing minty boom. So I placed him in my bath and watched as he took off slowly fizzing away filling the room with a beautiful fresh minty scent as well as changing the water colour from a beautiful sea green to a relaxing azure blue. It was as if i was sitting on a long sandy beach watching the soft blue waves lapping gently against my feet with the beautiful fresh scents filling my senses.
Ah man, just re-thinking about it just makes me want to go on holiday ...

So Abombinaball has a lovely minty and vanilla based scent that really does make the entire bathroom smell fresh and inviting. I really do love fresh scents, along with those citrus and sweet scents, as it reminds me of being outdoors somewhere I like to be the majority of the time.
Abombinaball contains Peppermint oil, Vanilla Absolute and Orange oil which moisturised my skin really well. My skin felt so soft and smooth after bathing and the scent lasted for a good few hours. My husband commented on how my skin felt and spent the majority of the evening stroking my legs.

I really can't wait to get my mitts on this little guy during the Christmas season. I plan too, as Lush put it, capture myself a few before they vanish again. Not only is he very cute but smells amazing; he is also quiet a different product on the Lush bath bomb range, the majority of which have a sweeter, floral or citrus based scent.

So what do you guys think? Have you tried the Abombinaball yet? Do you plan to? Also do you like my collages? I believe it's an easier way to show a collection of pictures together without having to upload them separately. Let me know in the comments below =)

My Fair Lady, A NOTWK

My wish is that I could paint my nails bright and beautiful colours during the week for work. Beautiful colours ranging from pinks to blues to greens to greys. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my work, it cannot be done but since I have a lovely 'my nail colour but better' nude, I decided to break the rules and go for it. Not only did my nails look really polished, tidy and professional but the colour really suited my skin tone and so made me feel professional in my work environment. I seriously felt like I was supposed to be wearing a suit and heading to the office each day. Sounds silly eh!

The colour is in fact My Fair Lady from the Ciate range. I got this polish free with a Marie Clare magazine a while back and have to say I was really pleased I walked into Tesco that day. My Fair Lady is a beautiful milky nude with a slight, and I mean slight, pink tone. It looks super stunning with my skin tone and I can see myself picking this one up plenty of times during the year, and of course for work.

Since My Fair Lady is a milky nude it will require that you use two layers, with a good base and top coat, to give a good solid colour payoff. The colour is opaque after the second one the gives the nails such a healthy subtle glow.

As you can see from the picture above and from the Ciate website, the handles of all Ciate nail polishes are longer than some regular brands and the brush has long, thick bristles that cover the nail with ease. I find that I only need to swipe the nail twice with the brush for an even and smooth finish.
The nail polish went for three days without chipping which is brilliant especially with all the work I do both at home and at the Sergeants Mess - yes I work with sgts on my husbands camp and yes I thoroughly enjoy it =)
I have worn this polish before and it lasted for a week before I noticed general wear and tear so I know it's definitely a good long lasting polish.

What more do I need in a polish. I have a beautiful shade that makes me feel good, the application is fantastic and it has fantastic longevity. Oh but wait I have two more. All Ciate nail polishes contain no parabens and never test on animals. Seriously, what more could you want from a nail polish brand that is a) affordable and b) good to our skin and Mother Nature. To be honest I can't ask for more and am 100 percent with everything this polish and brand deliver.

So thank you Ciate for delivering a fabulous range of nail polishes in a fantastic array of colours. Not only have you provided us with fantastic colours and polishes but you have taken into the consideration the possible dangers of parabens and have created something that is both kind to our skin and to our dear two and four legged friends.

Have you tried anything from the Ciate range? What are your thoughts on my colour choice? Let me know in the comments below!

The Great Gift of Lovliness

Good evening everyone.
A few weeks a go I was emailed by a lovely lady called Jackie who wanted to do a guest post feature on my blog to do with Mesothelioma Cancer. Instantly I agreed and got it up today to share her wonderful words with you. Thank you Jackie for getting in touch with me.
So without further ado here is a beautiful post written by Jackie Clark who wanted to share her words with you all.

The Great Gift of Loveliness
By: Jackie Clark

Women have been given the great gift of loveliness. Ladies of all walks of life enjoy various beautiful things, from sweet smells to creative make-up and gorgeous clothing. A woman in the midst of a difficult prognosis is no different. Turning to fashion and friends can be an excellent attitude adjustment!

If you're a woman who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer, then you will need lots of love and support in the weeks and months to come, as you go through treatment and recovery. Consider pulling your sister-friends close to you and share your needs with them. Together you can come up with a wellness plan. Creating something beautiful from a difficult life trial can be an encouragement to everyone. Perhaps even a fashion show?

You can get together over coffee to plan your fashion event. Think about how much you are actually up to doing and go from there. Secure a venue, such as a home that is roomy and comfortable. Send out simple invites, or place calls to those who know you well and have your best interest at heart. Definitely plan to have nourishing foods and drinks to share with one another.

One of the main points of the fashion show will be for your friends to choose outfits that will work for you while you are healing. The outfits should reflect your particular style and color preferences. Your friends can include matching head coverings, scarves and hats. Choose a variety of lovely smelling perfumes and paint each other’s nails for added fun. And, don't forget the bling! Add in lots of bangles and sparkles to bring a cheery mood to your fashion show.

Allow your friends to do this for you and your health and don't forget to be in the moment. Enjoy the whole event, from the cat-walk to the music, from healthy foods to the caring people in your life. Imagine how powerful and beautiful you will feel as you put on your new clothes and strut the runway with your loved ones there to smile and support you!

During the difficult days ahead, these sweet memories that you have made will be a comfort to you. And, as you recover and gain your strength, you will have pretty things to wear and fragrances to lift your spirits. As soon as you are able, plan a spa day with your friends. It will be important to treat and pamper yourself with beauty, kinship and love.

Laptops, Chargers and the Delights

Good evening beautiful people

If you are following me on twitter you may have read about my issues with my charger for my laptop. Sadly it stopped working yesterday and so my laptop isn't able to charge which means a massive lack in promised, and planned, blog posts until the new one is sent to me.
Stupid thing!! This has bugged me all day so please Mr Courier bring it to me asap.
It's very lucky that my laptop has cover otherwise my laptop charger wouldn't be on it's way to me yet until after I'm paid. The gentleman sorted it all out for me and he mentioned that if any other problems occurred to ring straight away, well during the opening hours, for advice and for possible fixtures.

Phew, thank you 3 years what ever happens cover =)

I'm able to update on basic posts, awards and wishlists, but any other posts won't be happening till I am back on my laptop due to this being my husbands MAC which I am completely useless at using. I prefer my HP's and Vaio's (hope I've spelt that correctly)

I've been looking at new laptops and have fallen for this beautiful white with sparkle detailing Vaio. It would look fantastic in my home =)

So hopefully all my regular posts will back up and running by the weekend. I have so much to share with you and it's very annoying not being able to.

Well I'll try and stay updated with your posts and comment as much as I can.

Speak to you all very soon

Nail Of The Weekend #2

Who enjoys painting nails a beautiful pastel shade during the colder months that represents the oncoming spring and summer ever so well? Well I do and today decided to paint my nails Berry Ice-Cream from the famous and well loved Barry M range.

I brought this polish last year and instantly fell in love with it's beautiful pastel lilac shade which of course is perfect for the warmer months. It's such a beautiful lilac that reminds me of grapes for some strange reason. To be honest I fell in love with the entire pastel shade range that was on offer and will be picking up more this year.

Just imagine this one being painted on your toes and being shown off to the world. It would look divine, especially with a tan.

This polish applied beautifully and is almost opaque after one layer of application. I used two applications and found that it dried quickly, applied easily and had a flawless finish something that is a regular occurrence with Barry M nail polish. This of course, along with the wide range of shades and price, makes it a fabulous hit with many Beauty Obsessed individuals.

I used my Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener before and after applying the polish which gave it more of a shine and of course that extra protection.

I am really in love with this shade and cannot recommend it enough, especially if you are one for bright pastel shades.

Have you got Berry Ice-Cream in your nail polish collection? What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments below :o)

To note all opinions are my own and I purchased this polish with my own money. I am not promoting Barry M or receiving anything in return for this review. Thank you for reading :o)
